    SIUE is D2, they also played on the road, the day after they played us, and only lost by 6 points at Purdue.

    True the team we held to 31 was SIU-E, a division II team, so it is a little over the top to go to crazey about that. However SIUE was one of the top DII teams last year and scored either 62 or 72 on Purdue that day after they played us and only lost by a couple. (I can't remember which 62 or 72?) Yea, I know its exhibition, it doesn't mean much but it means something.

    I'm just saying our defense is spectacular. I'm sure you guys have talented guards. They will be in for a challenge Friday night.

    Your key will be you big guys against our young big guys. We have talent there also but we got pushed around pretty good last year against Ok St. in the NCAA tourney and one of our biggest concerns is whether they are stronger. I think going against Southall and your big guys will be a pretty good measuring stick for how far our front court has developed over the Summer.

    I'm really looking forawrd to this game. In the end the home court will likely be decisive.

    Woah, it's weird to read a sentence where someone uses "you guys" instead of "ya'll." Its great to know that lingo still exists.

    ....oh, and yes we do have talented guards!

    This type of game is so much more exciting for the fan's of both schools than playing some horrible team or a D-2 team. It will prepare both teams for conference and for the post season. This will be an exiting game and hopefully a close game, it wouldn't be polite to blow out the home team.

    This will be a good early season test for both of our teams.

    Our student section is known for being fairly clever and really getting under the skin of the other team. That might be part of the reason for the 55-1 home record over the last few years. You guys got a bit of a break this time though as our thanksgiving break starts this week and there may not be as many students on campus.

    I'm not sure they will come up with prison jumpsuits but damm that would be great too. I'll mention it, thanks...

    I think "Jail bird" and "felon" chants are to be expected. If Southalll does well here he will do well anywhere.

    I promise you Southall will get the last laugh. I guarantee you that no one on your team will be able to stop him. He's an animal. I wish I could say the same for the rest of the team.

    Wait until about 9:20pm Friday night, you will not have to ask again.

    I used to live in Carbondale, many moons ago. Tell me, do they still ban beer sales there during Halloween? Typical Midwesterners; can't handle their beer.

    Seriously, the SIU arena is a great place to play, and I wish I could be there Friday night. I would, were it not for three bundles of joy at our house now. It would be fun to grab a burrito from LaBamba's, then celebrate a UL victory by crashing the parties at Lake Kincaid.

    But I believe you guys think too highly of yourselves when you say that UL is to SIUC as SIUC is to Gonzaga. I believe we're at the same level, at least.

    Anyway, I guess we'll find out Friday night. Good luck!

    Yea- we do think highly of ourselves...with good reason.

    * 4 straight at large bids;
    * Sweet 16 Appearance;
    * 4 straight conference championships;
    * 3 NCAA tourney victory's in four years (two close losses against Alabama, Missouri and Ok. St.)
    * 2nd longest home Court winning streak in the country;
    * The MVC as the top rated Mid-Major in the country (many SIU fans hate that Mid label but I don't mind it so much);

    There is probably more to be proud of but I stayed out too late last night to remember! I admit the Zags have accomplished more but we are a good middle ground between Zags and LALA. I don't say that to be an |||, I think you guys are a great up and coming program.

    Oh and there are still several beer laws in place around Halloween. It's complete bull|||| and I don't think the local government should be allowed to restrict keg sales and stuff over any weekend but there is not much we can do about it.

    What? Once you sober up junior, you need to do a little research on this up and coming program. Where was siu in the early 70's, early 80's, and all of the 90's?
