    I like it. My only suggestion is that since you have the pepper on the Ragin below, do we need it above? Perhaps a larger FDL, which is supposed to be the symbol reflective of our university, might work better and keep the colors simple and clean.

    Not trying to take anything away from your design, but also consider the following which incorporates the state of Louisiana with the UL, not only making it clear that the UL is for Louisiana, but the shape of the state, being an "L", can also apply to ULL while not making it so obvious. It also has the FDL where the city of Lafayette is located on the state.

    If Iowa got butthurt over the Southern Miss bird head logo, I think Miami completely lose it over the similarity. Its a little busy, but the concept is great. I do like how the U looks like 2 L's for some reason.
