Ragin' Cajuns women's tennis head coach Greg Harkins announced the team's schedule for the upcoming 2011-12 season on Thursday.

"Our schedule will be competitive and challenging," Harkins said. "And with a seasoned squad we look forward to a successful 2011-12 campaign.

"Upperclassmen Briggitt Marcovich, Milou Israel, Audrey Wooland and transfer Erin Wilbert (Kansas) will bring depth and experience to the lineup."

The squad will compete in four tournaments during the fall portion of the schedule: Northwestern State Invitational in Natchitoches (Sept. 23-25), UL Invitational at Cajun Courts (Oct. 7-9), Southern Regionals in Birmingham, Ala., (Oct. 21-25) and the USM Halloween Classic in Hattiesburg, Miss. (Oct. 28-30).

In Spring 2012, the Cajuns will square off with five of last season's Southern Region Top 10 - Samford (Jan. 28-29), Mississippi State (Feb. 4), Northwestern State (Feb. 25), La.-Monroe (March 22) and Tulane (March 31).

The spring portion of the schedule starts at Rice on Saturday, Jan. 21. The Owls ended last season in the final ITA rankings.

The home opener is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 10 against Abilene Christian. The home schedule wraps up with a trio of strong programs as UL welcomes Southern Miss (March 24), Tulane (March 31) and Denver (April 6).

The regular season concludes on the Atlantic coastline as the Cajuns venture to Charleston, S.C., for matches with College of Charleston and Coastal Carolina (April 9-10). The 2012 Sun Belt Championships will be held in Denton, Texas, April 19-22.
