I think it is important for a season to get off on the right foot so for me the most important game of the year is the first.
Northwestern
I'm with you, Turbine! Let's get off to a good start at home! A loss after the Texas game (win or lose) would not be good. If we were to accomplish the miracle win, a follow-up loss would negate almost all of the energy generated by the huge upset. If we lose to Texas (a foregone conclusion by almost everyone), a 0-2 start would be hard to overcome. I know NSU will likely have a pretty good team, so it will be a tough game for us.Originally Posted by Turbine
I voted for Northwestern too. We can't afford in-state I-AA losses. ANd if you lose that game, say hello to crowds of 12k the rest of the season.
Northwestern State is the 3rd game...Originally Posted by RaginFan2
I went with Troy as this is also my first name!! No, I voted for Troy(homecoming) being that they provide what I find to be the toughest contest for UL on the home slate. I certainly by NO means discount any of the other teams coming to Cajun Field, and agree with all those who voted for Northwestern as it is the FIRST home game and it is paramount to get off to a great start(WIN CAJUNS WIN)!!! I Will be in that number each and every home game, God willing!!

It has to be homecoming. With all of the pageantry, parade, painting the town Vermilion Red, not one other game fits the bill.
I know why, Turbine, took the opening home game. He says that if we open at home on a good winning note, then the tailgating becomes more intense as the season progresses and he gets to sample many of the goodies around Cajun Field.
The Krewe de Chew is already planning its menus. But everything leads to homecoming.
I would like to go to all, but I'll probably only make it to UCF.
I said UCF, not because their the toughest team on the schedule, but because OOC wins helps the overall profile of the conference, even if it is a win against lowly UCF.

Oops! Who do we play in the second game? Oh, is that the Eastern Michigan road game? I forgot about that one. Thanks.Originally Posted by Crawfish
