UL Cannon in use at Cajun Field from game one when the Stadium opened.

It could be coincidence, but curiously there is still an indention at Cajun Field where the cannon once stood during games.

Turbine risks life and limb like a CNN correspondent in Bagdad to bring you this shot.
I'm no civil engineer, but I don't think that cannon is heavy enough to leave a 30-plus year indention in the surface at Cajun Field. That corner of the stadium has been dug and redug several times in various sprinkler system and drainage repairs. It is most likely a gradually worsening sinkhole.
I love the cannon (even though I have not heard it) and wish it had been there for the UNT game. Hopefully the frat guys will come back and help fill the stadium, hey why not make all pledges attend games as part of getting in to the frat or sorority? Never was a member of one so I do not know how it works.
I think it is the start to something good for the program. It will take time to build on things from the past which people will remember. But I think it is a great start.
Does anybody know if the cannon's going to be at the home football games this season? I enjoyed hearing the BOOM after the Cajuns scored a TD.
I have not heard anything but perhaps somebody with frat connections could answer your question better.
As far as I Know, it will be back this year..put it to you this way, if it wasn't back, then I would have known
Does anyone know why the cannon has been absent from the last two home games? It's one of my favorite traditions we have at Cajun Field and seems to really get the crowd going. I believe KA fraternity is responsible for it being at the games. Maybe the university should consider taking it over so it can consistently be at every home game.

I miss the cannon too. If the young KA's can't handle it we'll have to call on the old cannon experts from the 70's, the one and only Floyd Yount.
I beleive the cannon was removed becauce you have to have a pyro tech license to fire the cannon. It is insure the safety of the people around the cannon. The cannon is great so in order to for us to use lets get the right people involved to handle this so we can get the cannon. If we would have had it saturday for the FIU game we would have ran out of Ammunition.
