UL Football Louisiana wins Bayou Bowl 10-7 (Fenroy looks good)

Just some football news. Tyrell Fenroy (St. Charles Catholic LaPlace), signed RB for Cajuns, is scheduled to play in this Texas vs LA high school allstar game Sat June 11, 8:00 pm on FSN.

I have watched T-Train the past 2 years and he is a lights out runner. As the only RB on the LA team he should get the ball a lot and hopefully show the Cajun fans he will be a bright star in the years to come. Patrick Jackson the other RB has dropped out of the game....

WOW thanks for the heads up 123

Ever since I shared a bench with T-Train (pic) at the Vermilion and White game, (even though it was only for a minute) I have been a fan of him and his family.

I am anxious to see his speed in action. Before he signed with Louisiana, one of the recruiting services had T-Train with 4.35 speed in the 40.

Thanks for the heads up. As excited as I am about having Deon Wallace play for us in the fall, I get a really good feeling when it comes to Fenroy. I've never seen him play a full game, so I'm really looking foward to tonight. While the Texas team may win, I just hope that they don't get ahead by much so that they can keep running Fenroy.

Fenroy is #8 tonight for the Louisiana team. So far they are using him as a wide out not at running back yet. Lucas Taylor, was at tailback but was getting swamped and then they moved him to quarterback and made a few good runs. So players are being used at different positions. Each team only has 40 players.

In a way it is good to NOT have too many of our signees playing as sometimes these guys get hurt.

DaddyCajun waiting for Fenroy to get into the action!!

He looks to be a hellacious blocker...

But I haven't seen them hand him the ball...

22 Omar Conteh had approximately a 30 yard TD run. He by have has been the most impressive in the 1st quarter.

Fenroy has been playing FB. He did make a few good blocks to free up the QB for a few more seconds. The QB has not had much to work with. The Texas defince is penitrating & swarming.

Lucus Taylor has been impressive so far as a QB & WR.

    agreed...
But he would be MUCH more impressive if he could catch the ball...

    Fenroy had a carry...
On 4th on 6... they gave it to him on a fullback dive... for no gain...

I had a serious Baldwin flashback... it was awful.

The Louisiana running game is struggling. Fenroy has done a good job of picking up some key blocks to free the QB.

Fenroy just had a couple good runs. It looks like he runs hards and with his shoulders square. He is hitting the DBs just as hard as they are hitting him. He is getting an extra couple yards after the hit. That is a very good sign.

I was very pleased with what I saw. Fenroy only got one carry in the 1st half mostly out of the fullback position, but he got the ball a few times after the break and he made the most of them. Very good blocker in the backfield...I don't remember him missing one block the whole night (and he made quite a few). He's got great burst and is very decisive when hitting the hole. Looks like a hard runner who enjoys punishing guys...I can't wait to see him in an offense that likes to run the ball with Jerry Babb and Deon Wallace in the backfield with him. Next season's going to be one to remember if we can stay healthy.
