The only time I ever used painter's tape when working for a professional painter was to tape heavy duty paper on hardwood floors so that we could walk without worrying about tracking dirt, dust, etc.

It is actually easier to trim in moulding using a "free-hand" then by taping it off using painter's tape. In some instances, paint can seep under the tape and leave a jagged edge behind.

Just a little lesson that I was taught and believe me it works.
You have to use the right brand of painter's tape. You get what you pay for. The "blue tape" made by 3M is very good quality. You also have to press it down hard, or it will seep. Yes, it is easier to do it free hand, but if you don't paint for a living, it will take you longer than just taping the line.

It will be painted with the vermillion (red) 4 foot wide all the way around except it will go 6 feet on the endzones. University of Louisiana spelled out down the sidelines (both sides) in the natural wood color. Ragin Cajuns spelled out across the endlines in natural wood color with the Chili pepper on the n. The SunBelt Conference logo will be spelled out in the natural wood color in the lane with the whole lane being painted red. The only other thing on this court will be a White Volleyball Court. Hope this helps. Maybe Turbine could do some magic and show us. Thanks.

    Coach,

Can you tell me if you will be playing Centenary at home this year? One of my former players is now on the coaching staff at Centenary and we were wandering if they will pay a visit to EKL.

    Thanks.

    Beau Cajun:
We are not playing Centenary this year. We are also not playing Tulane, Southeastern LA., Lamar, McNeese and Northwestern State. All schools that are close that we pretty much play in different sports and our women's team has played in the past. For some reason none of these schools can seem to fit us in on THEIR SCHEDULE (NOW THAT WE WERE 22-9) and won the WESTERN DIVISION OF THE SUN BELT CONFERENCE. Let me know your thoughts, especially if you know someone at any of these schools. WE NEED TO PLAY THE TEAMS THAT ARE CLOSE BY FOR BUDGET REASONS. THANKS FOR THE QUESTION.

We will start playing them in 2006-07 Basketball Season. They are coming into the Sun Belt Full Time (every sport). That's why we didn't schedule them for this year. One of us would have lost a home game by doing it a year early. Thanks for the question.
P.S. ALL OUR DIE-HARDS, WHITNEY DUNLAP WAS JUST NAMED A.A.U. 17/UNDER ALL-AMERICAN DOWN IN ORLANDO. HAD A GREAT TOURNEY. Great Shooter from Bishop-Sullivan in Baton Rouge. Wait til you see her shoot it.

Hey coach, how is the court looking? Is it finished yet? I have been waiting anxiously to see the finished product! If anyone with access could get in there and take some pictures I would really appreciate it!

That was fast. As you can see the progress is on here at E.K. Long. Hopefully our friend Turbine will keep the shots coming. I LIKE THAT.

Someone asked about the LOGO in center. It will be a giant UL (interlocking) like baseball and softball use. It is my understanding that it will be in black letters facing the stands with the Universty of Louisiana down the sideline where you walk in. It will be nice (TRUST ME). The future is looking bright.

DaddyCajun, I think we are the only ones that want to see the court. if no one else is able I might be able to grab my camera and snap some pictures. However I have no idea how I would get in. You're in tight with the coaches, how/when could I get in?
