Glad to hear all is going well!
In reference to the banners, do we have to keep that banner? Or can we put up on of our own...the Louisiana Lafayette is just killing me!

Turbine were you ever able to get pictures of the work in at E.K. Long?
Yes but the last 2 times I went I missed an open door. The pic below is from 5 days ago.Originally Posted by Clutch0364
As noted in the head mans post the layout is much farther along than when I took this picture. It seems they layout every single board before they start nailing the first one down. Interesting . . .
Coach, can you let us in on what will be painted on the court? Louisiana? Lady Cajuns? Hope you can elaborate!!
Thanks again for ALL you do!!
DaddyCajun!!
It is my understanding that the court will have University of Louisiana @ Lafayette (in small print) down both sidelines. It will be spelled out in the natural color of the wood with the lettering and a trim of red around the whole court in what I think will be 4 or 6 foot in width with 10 feet on the end lines in red all the way around.Originally Posted by DaddyCajun
It will have ragin' cajuns on the end lines in the natural wood color in the 10 foot area on both ends. It will have a large interlocking UL logo in the middle in black letters. It will also have the Sun Belt Conference logo on both ends of the court in the same places as before (if you look at the old Pics that Turbine took). The only other thing on the court will be the solid white Volleyball court (as specified by NCAA) as we share the court with them and I have no problem with that. Thanks for asking, hope this makes some sense. Headragincajun1
Coach, how about you give us an update on what the Cajun's Roster will look like this fall. I've seen the Broadhead kid play and she is really good. How is her rehab going? Your comments will generate more excitement here on the Cajun Board. Thanks.Originally Posted by headragincajun1
I'll try to give as much update as possible (NCAA RULES) permit us from really saying a lot about the new incoming players. We signed 4 NEW FRESHMEN. All will qualify academically. Of this group of four, two of these are guards (Brodhead and Whitney Dunlap).Originally Posted by CajunGuru
Brodhead as you know was hurt in her SR. year (ACL). NCAA Rules do not allow us to comment on injuries (believe it or not). SOME PEOPLE VOILATE this rule often. She will be fine (TRUST ME).
Dunlap is a shooting guard.
We also signed the 2 Post Players, Erin Kacy 6'2" and Ovigwerade Agbuke 6'5" who is here at UL in Summer School
to round out the Freshman Class.
We already had JUCO Guard Jeanenne Colbert here @ UL sitting out (Redshirt) and we signed the MVP of the 2004 JUCO National Tourney Yolanda Jones 6"1" and we picked up Amber Williams 6'0'' JUCO player from Blinn, TX both of them play the same position that Tiffany Washington played. We also signed a guard from JUCO Chipola JC (Transfer from Providence and Xavier) to round out the recruiting class that was the best in the history of this program. As you all know we have some very good players coming back to us with lots of experience. CAN"T WAIT. Hope this helps.

Sounds great coach can't wait to see team hit the court again next spring.
LOL! Didn't you just violate it?Originally Posted by headragincajun1
Coach we appreciate your comments. The class really looks good on paper, but it will be nice when you guys can parlay this talent into a NCAA appearance. I am curious about you statement concerning comments of signees. It was my understanding that once you have received the letter of intent signed, you could indeed talk about any signed athlete.Originally Posted by headragincajun1
In fact, football programs have signing parties and baseball coaches talk about signed athletes at luncheons at the end of the season. Does basketball have different criteria?
Thanks again coach.
Guru,
I got the impression he was talking about commenting on injuries. I know I've read/heard before that the university (any school) was not allowed to comment on student-athlete injuries. Now, if the kid talks about it, then its OK; but I believe it has to do with "privacy act" type stuff.

The 2005-06 season of sports at UL is gonna be so exciting...I have never had this type of anticipation for our sports programs since I graduated from UL! I would like to say thank you Coach! And also thanks to the wonderful people who participate on this message board! Thank you Turbine, Guru, DaddyCajun, Clutch, LXA and everyone else that bleeds Vermillion and White!
