DaddyCajun gave me the heads up that the new flooring project was underway.
This is what it looks like today.
The Pecan flooring has been removed and the new Maple is waiting for a few key underlayment boards to be replaced.
TURBINE YOUR THE UPDATE MAN!!!!!! I WILL BE ONE OF THE MANY WATCHING THE LADY CAJUNS PLAY SOME BALL, CAJUN "J-KELLY" STYLE!!!!
DaddyCajun!!!
Thanks it would be nice to see progress reports as the work progresses. I remember a poll on what should go at center court, did the school ever announce what was going to happen?

That was fast. As you can see the progress is on here at E.K. Long. Hopefully our friend Turbine will keep the shots coming. I LIKE THAT.
Someone asked about the LOGO in center. It will be a giant UL (interlocking) like baseball and softball use. It is my understanding that it will be in black letters facing the stands with the Universty of Louisiana down the sideline where you walk in. It will be nice (TRUST ME). The future is looking bright.

God Bless.
When do they get rid of the New Mexico State banner?
What about the addition of Florida Atlantic, ULM, and Troy banners?
MOST IMPORTANTLY!!!! WHEN DO WE GET OUR CHAMPIONSHIP BANNER?!!!?!
That's the one I'm looking forward to because I don't want our NCAA banner to be lonely after next season!
The Sun Belt Conference Office is in charge of the banners for the conference schools (we have already had a discussion about it last week). As far as our banners (KIM P. and the Championship Banner) That will be up to the University when they hang (HOPEFULLY SOON). Thanks for the support.Originally Posted by CAJUNJUDO

I know the removed Pecan wood is spoken for. But I was talking to Glenn Raggio and he came up with the idea (and I like) of saving enough of the pecan to make a 4x8 conference championship banner.
Have you ever heard of a more unique banner other than being made of the actual floor the championship was won on? I haven't.
Of course I wouldn't use this portion of the floor LINK
Below you can see that the underlayment for the linked portion has been completely removed.
According to the head man (I saw in another post) the NEW MAPLE is 30% installed. I need to get over there and take a picture or 2 his afternoon.
There sure was an attention to temporary detail back n the 1940's.
The back of every single pecan plank was stamped MADE IN THE USA and labeled with the Louisiana Pecan Logo.
I say temporary because as soon as it is installed you never see it again. Till now that is. . .
Just wanted to update everybody on the progress of the NEW FLOOR. As of 9 A.M. this morning it was 90 % finished (putting the new floor down). It is coming well with no major setbacks. Will be finished putting the wood down today and start nailing it down soon. My understanding is that after that process they will sand it and start the new painting. We should be only a couple to 3 weeks away. I'll keep you posted. It's LOOKING NICE. I like the light maple colored look.
