    That made me laugh.

OK here you go but you won't like it.

If Bustle wins 2 games this year he will still be ahead of Beamer in wins through their respective 1st six years.

Frank Beamer won only 2 games in his 6th year at Tech.

In this 7th year he won 9 games and has never looked back. The year was 1993

The ironic thing about 1993 is that it was a huge turn around year for UL as well. Jake started as a freshman, UL won 8 games and well, all we do is look back.

The good news is Bustle has been following the Beamer model to a "T" so if it holds course then next year is the year UL turns the corner and never looks back.

After his slow start at Virginia Tech, I'm not going into how Beamer and Co. ended up in the national championhip game. I can't project the UL model that far into the future.

    Ps That's that.

  3. UL Football Their Last 3 Years

Rickey Bustle is 12-15 over his last three years and while not great by any means it also not a comparative disaster. He easily deserves another year to pull off the transition.

I thought it would be interesting to see the record of the last 3 years of some former UL coaches. Their record over the final 3 years before they were let go or decided to move on.

    W-L-T
    6-27       Baldwin
    8-25       Stokley
    14-19     Sam Robertson
    13-19     Augie Tammariello
    10-20-1   Russ Faulkinberry
    11-17     Jim "Red" Hoggatt
    14-14     Raymond Didier
    18-8-1   George "Gus" Mitchell
    11-10-2   Louis Whitman
    15-10-3   Johnny L. Cain
    9-19       T.F. Wilbanks
    8-19-1     T.R. Mobley

Johnny L. Cain came back later for a 1 year stint, but that year and other coaches who didn't make it 3 straight years were not included in the list.
