NEW ORLEANS -- The University of Louisiana kept giving Alabama a four-run lead in two NCAA regional games, and that's never good.

The Tide, behind Morrow Thomley's two-out, two-run homer sparking up the offense in the fourth, eliminated UL-Lafayette in a 4-3 loss Sunday night at Turchin Stadium.

On Friday, on the opening day of the regional, UL-Lafayette gave up a four-run first inning and trailed by four through six innings, losing 7-5.

"You can't spot the Bad News Bears four runs, much less a (Southeastern Conference) team like Alabama," said Robichaux, whose team went 4-7 since May 17.

After a rain delay, the Cajuns got a two-run homer from Dallas Morris in the sixth and a solo shot to lead off the ninth from Justin Morgan, a scoreless four innings from reliever Ian Pecoraro, but that still left them a run shy from tying the game. The Crimson Tide took a 4-0 lead before the rain delay.
