Thread: Ardoin's blues leave no clues

  1. UL Baseball Ardoin's blues leave no clues

NEW ORLEANS - It was painful to watch.

Like swallowing sour milk, or grinding fingernails on a blackboard.

Except when those things happen, you can usually do something about it.

    Kevin Ardoin's misery continues.

The guy that was the unquestioned leader of the Ragin' Cajun pitching staff ... the bell-cow ... the go-to guy ... has become a walking question mark.

A pitcher who was a 12th-round selection of the Texas Rangers in last year's pro draft, one who was close to taking his talents to the next level, is now a disaster waiting to happen.

Nobody can figure out what's happened to the pitcher who was 10-1 when May began. He's now 10-5, and Friday was the culmination of a month that has shattered his confidence.

Five Alabama batters came to the plate in his 16th start of the season Friday, and his most important. Four of them scored before Louisiana head coach Tony Robichaux mercifully went to the Turchin Stadium mound to end his NCAA Regional misery.

Ardoin had a 1.88 ERA going into May. Since then, it's 13.50.

After a fabulous carreer with the Cajuns it is ashamed to see a great pitcher leave this way.

Not over yet, he will get his chance! It may be for the better, last night! Now he has a chance to bounce back and put us in the final game, possibly!

No one, I mean no one, can imagine the torment he is going through. I sincerely hope he has an opportunity to get out of his slump, and be the pitcher we know.

I, also, hope he does this so that you can eat your words. Bon appetit!!

C'mon, JMV, lighten up a little. It's not like a personal attack. Just a little hyperbolic remark expressing his opinion about the odds of us coming all the way back to win the regional from the losers bracket. Kinda like saying we've got a million-to-one shot. A bit of an exaggeration, perhaps, but we did dig ourselves into a big hole. Well, we've climbed a little bit out of it today against SU. Tomorrow we have to do it again against either the #2 or #1 seed. Not an easy task. But we do have the capacity to do it. We'll need to show a lot of grit & determination to get it done. Good job today, Cajuns!

Geaux Ragin' Cajuns!!!!! Dry up whichever aquatic solution we play tomorrow!

Hope Tulane doesn't put them away too early and Bama has to go deep into their bullpen. Hopefully Tulane does as well.

Tulane up 5-3 in the 6th. Alabama just took out their starter as Tulane is threatening with 2 runners on.
