A 10 run 4th leaves the Canadians on the field. I sure hope this catapults Christi to more at bats and the Americans to the World Cup Championship.

Ken Eriksen obviously believes in Orgeron's ability for him to continue to give her chances despite how much she is struggling; he clearly can see what she can do and knows what she can do and he obviously gives her chances so she can break out of the funk she was in.

His faith was rewarded today because that bases clearing double completely deflated Britain and the USA turned into an unstoppable avalanche.

All it takes is one hit for a player to get the proverbial monkey off their back, and Orgeron may turn back into the animal that ate the NCAA alive this past season.

Observations:.. why is the Great Britain team all US college players?.. Also curious is to how Valerie Ariota made the team after she medical red-shirted last season?.... She's a very good player but it just seems odd that she made the team..

Maybe she had an outstanding try-out? I could really careless how she made the team given her 9 RBI's with 2 outs in this tournament is pretty much as clutch as anyone can get. There were a lot of questions about some of the player selections for this USA team, but so far Ken Eriksen looks like a guy who knows what he is doing.

Also most of the players on international teams go to college in the USA to play softball as well as get an education. The USA is without a doubt the center of excellence in softball, and to be the best you have to play against and also be taught by the best. Japan is the exception, not the rule in international softball.
