UL Softball Christi Orgeron - USA Team

This is part of an article posted by the USA softball web site today.
    "GAME 2 - Women’s National Team 11 Junior Women’s National Team 0

The WNT jumped on top quick in game two scoring two runs in the top of the second off three straight hits. Jenae Leles (Sacramento, Calif.) and M. Johnson turned in back-to-back hits before scoring on a double off the bat of Valerie Arioto (Pleasanton, Calif.).

The real damage was done in the third inning when the WNT scored nine runs off six hits and two errors. With a dominating 11-0 lead, the inning was highlighted by a solo home run from Cochran and a Christie Orgeron (New Orleans, La.) two-RBI single up the middle.
From the circle, Keilani Ricketts (San Jose, Calif.) earned the win in the circle with three hitless innings and four strikeouts. Lefty Whitney Canion (Aledo, Texas) completed the final innings allowing one hit with five strikeouts before the game was ended due to the run-ahead rule.

For the JWNT arsenal, Dallas Escobedo (Glendale, Ariz.) suited up working 2.1 innings but was saddled with the loss allowing eight earned runs.

Up next, both teams will travel to Bowie, Maryland where they will play their final exhibition series on Friday evening at the Baysox Stadium. Game one begins at 6:35 p.m.

The Women’s National Team will continue on to the Canadian Open FastPitch International Championship, July 9-17, in Surrey, B.C., and then the World Cup of Softball VI, July 21-25, in Oklahoma City. Ticket information for upcoming appearances is available at USASoftball.com.

The USA Softball Women’s National Team will seek the program’s ninth Pan American Games title, Oct. 17-23, in Guadalajara, Mexico for the final competition of 2011. Two months later, the juniors head to South Africa to close out the year for USA Softball."

Luc's wife might complain, as she's already supplied one future Cajun softball player.

  10. UL Softball All-American Girl

Millions of Americans will fire up the grills today and start icing down their favorite beverages early in the morning to celebrate the Fourth of July.

By the end of the day, many will forget what they were celebrating in the first place.

UL softball player Christi Orgeron will not.

Is there a chance we can get her to work with our baseball team on hitting? :-)

This was a very well written article that described Christine perfectly. Brady really got the essence of Christine Orgeron in the interview. Good Job, Brady! Mike and Stefni recruit fantastic people!
