"Christi continues to impress the softball world with what we in Cajun country already know," Ragin' Cajuns co-head coach Michael Lotief said. "She is one of the best softball players in the country and now she gets to showcase her talents against the world.
Wow! Congratulations!

I am very proud of Christi, not just for her making the team, but for everything about her. She was right when she gave props to her coaches and teammates, this is just another indicator of the greatness of everyone connected with the Cajun softball program.
I know we have become accustomed to the success of the softball team, but let me remind us of a few things. The on field success, classroom efficiencies and community services are no accident. They come from the hard work, talent and cooperation of this coaching staff and the people they recruit. Chris, Mike and Stefni look for class individuals that want to work hard for what they want. These individuals are intelligent, dedicated to doing what is right and care about people.
It takes an incredible amount of work and talent to do what Mike & Stefni have been able to do here. That's why I feel we have the best coaches in the country. There is no plausible reason for this program to be a player on the national scene except for the talent and ability of these two individuals. For them to be able find players with ability who are of upright character, and then train them to be as good as the top players in the country and have them be competitive with the elite players and programs in the country, which have more money, better resources and facilities and, in many cases, better educational opportunities, is just mind boggling.
I am SO glad that Mike & Stefni love this university and this community. I don't want to even think about them ever leaving here. I know they have had opportunities to go elsewhere, but this is home to them and I hope we never, ever take them or the work they do for granted. UNABASHED FREE PLUG: To my mind, this is why the RCAF is so badly needed. We need to give, not until it hurts, but until it feels good to watch what that increase in resources can do for a program and the coaches responsible for making it as great as it is.
Thank you, Louisiana Ragin' Cajun softball team for being the class act you are.
Your post states an EXCELLENT reason for and why to give to RCAF. Because if you do care about the CAJUNS and UL, you will give; because it does feel good to give and see the direct benefits of giving. This is OUR part in this puzzle and we need to fully do our part.
So if you do love UL and want to be a part of improving its quality of athletics, please do join RCAF and give, like lcitsh says, until it feels good to watch YOUR investment improve CAJUN ATHLETICS!
Ragin' Cajuns softball All-American and 2011 USA Softball National Player of the Year semifinalist Christi Orgeron is in Plant City, Fla., this weekend ready to sport a Team USA uniform for the first time.
What position is she playing and is she starting????? Where in the lineup????
Christi is batting 5th as the DH in the second game of the doubleheader. She did not play in the first game. Through 5 innings, she has walked twice, scored twice, struck out and hit a 2 run homer. Here's the link:
