OK, boys & girls, it's time once again to play "SREB Data!"
If you want to wade through this stuff yourself, visit SREB

In 99-00 (the last year I can find data broken down by college category), the Average Doc I in the SREB got $7,014 from State & Local Revenues, per full-time equivalent student (FTE). The best (Maryland) got $9,360, the second from the bottom (WV) got $4,448.

LSU was the worst at $4,394, or
63% of average,
47% of best, and
98% of the next lowest.

In comparison, the Average Doc II received $6,319; the max (GTU) got $10,849, and the second from the bottom (Louisville) received $5,643.

UL got $3,431. So, not only do we receive 78% of what LSU does, we also receive
54% of the average,
32% of max, and
61% of the next lowest.

Hold on, it gets worse.

The worst in Doc III is $3,712, of which UL gets 92%. But the worst here isn't Louisiana, its WV. LA Doc IIIs (LTU, MSU, ULM, SU) get MORE than we do, an average of $3,979. We get only 86% of that.

We aren't finished.

The worst in Category IV is, once again, Louisiana (GSU, NW St, SLU) who get $3,276 on average. Finally, somebody gets less than we do, but they still get 95% of what we do, despite all of our research and doctoral programs.

In Category V, Louisiana is still the worst (LSU-S, Nicholls, SU-NO) but these guys get MORE than the IVs at $3,281, which is 96% of what we get.

We still ain't finished.

The CCs get $3,002 on average, or 87% of what we get-- again, despite all the things we do. But the show-stoppers are the vo-techs:
$4,024 per FTE, of which UL gets 85%.

Now do you guys realize why I defend what Ray has done here?

Copy this, and save it somewhere for your own reference.
