Of course Tulane is a stronger #1 than LSU. So for the Cajuns, I agree the Tulane regional would be tougher. And as a whole, the New Orleans regional is tougher principally because it has the #1 national seed.

But I think they are somewhat similar if you look at the #2 -> #4 seeds. I think Rice is a little stronger than Alabama as a #2. Hence, the first round matchup for the Cajuns is less difficult in New Orleans. Southern and Marist are close, but I would give the edge to Marist. Marist did almost take one from Tulane in New Orleans earlier this season. Louisiana is a stronger #3 seed than Northwestern State, but not by a large margin.

Can anyone give us a break down on Alabama?

It appears that Alabama will start Wade Leblanc against the Cajuns on Friday. Leblanc is a sophomore from Lake Charles. He was a preseason second team all american this year after playing lights out last year.

He hasn't had as good a run this year but none the less has some pretty good numbers.

3.76 ERA with 79 innings pitched. Opponents are hitting .223 against him with 96 strikeouts. Only 21 walks. He is 4-5 on the year with 12 starts and two complete games. The 6'3" left hander has good control and the Cajuns need to be on their game.

As a team the Crimson Tide is hitting .282 and this is definitely their weak point. However they lost starting pitcher Brandon Belcher for the rest of the year and that will hurt also but won't have an effect on our first game.

Definitely a winnable game for the Cajuns.

Let me see here, From checken out their site, our common opponents were South Al and Hawaii, they went 3-2 against those teams, where as we went 2-2.

As for checken their box scores, if their rotation holds up, we'll see Wade Leblanc friday. He's got an ERA of 3.76, 4-5 record. The power in their linup seems to be Evan Bush (although he has alot of HR's, kind of a low avg at .257) and Gabe Scott, who just looks like a monster hitting at .379, 12hr, 35 RBI.

As I look at the Inning by Inning scores for Alabama throughout the year, it appears that Alabama seems managable through the first 5 innings, but blow up for runs in the 6th-8th innings, so our reliever will be a key.

Also, Alabama is 33-3 when scoring 5 or more runs, while their 4-18 when scoring less than 5 runs.

Thats what I've been able to come up with, but I would appreciate it if someone could verify my information.

If you notice on Alabama's roster, they have 2 former Ragin Cajuns: 2b Rocky Scelfo and P Kenneth Brown. Hope we show them that they made the wrong decision by leaving. Also, who do ya'll think we should throw in the first game? Faught?

After looking over the Alabama baseball team stats the stat that really scares me the most is 70 of 92 in the stolen base department, that is scary considering most teams have ran freely on us all year.

I know he never played for us, but that he was at UL for some period of time after he left LSU. May not be the brightest, but he can definitely play ball. I watched him in highschool and he always found a way to get on base (hit .500 senior year of HS). We can't be overlooking Alabama, as everyone is talking about how they will find tickets to the game 'when' we play Tulane. If we play like we did the past week, we'll be facing Southern on Saturday (once again I'm assuming Tulane lives up to their #1 seed).

I wouldnt say that the BR region is a cake. Rice is a very good team and is who I believe will come out of that region. Looks like A&M will lost their first ever home regional.

Hey, do ya'll think that Hawke will get the start at 1st base for the regional? Or is Robe going to stick with Tatford who actually hit the ball in the conference tourney. Also, any final word on who will be on the mound for the Cajuns on Friday? GO CAJUNS.
