Hey JMV is it just because UL is in it, or am I right, baseball is growing in popularity since they went to the 64 team format.

Baseball has grown somewhat from the expansion of 48 to 64 teams. Also there use to be 8 regional host sites with 6 teams per regional. Now there is 16 regional with 4 teams each. This allows many different areas of the country to host, thus creating more excitement.

There were never eight regional host sites with eight teams per regional. That would be brutal to the pitching staffs.

In 1998, there were eight regionals of six teams each, for a total of 48 teams. 1999 saw the introduction of the 64 team field with regional - super regional pairings.
