I see where UL going 2-2 in the SunBelt tournament only dropped us 1 rpi spot.

My question is (and this would be academic since the season would be over, but of those who make it) can you see any of our opponents jumping into the top 50 by going 1-2 in the June Classic?

And could #45 Miami-Ohio stay in the top 50 if they go 0-2

    Thanks

Actually, the Cajuns were at 36 when the tournament began. The Cajuns dropped from 20 -> 36 with the losses to Nicholls State (0-1) and Western Kentucky (1-2) the week before the conference tournament. Hence, the 2-2 performance in the tournament dropped us three spots. Having to play Western Kentucky twice and losing once was the reason.

South Alabama (pRPI 52) could jump into the pRPI Top 50 by going 1-2 in the NCAA Regionals. St. John's (pRPI 54) could as well. But it depends on who they are matched against and who they beat.

Miami-Ohio could stay in the pRPI Top 50 if they go 0-2. Again, it really depends on who they play and how the teams in their pRPI neighborhood perform.

The last pRPI report is out (all of today's games are concluded). The Cajuns moved up one spot back to #38. Harvard helped them out today.

Brian had you ever seen this pRPI chart I did in 2003 ? UL started the season 7-20 and finished 23-10

I wish I had tracked this years week by week.

    Yes, I did. Amazing.

Wins over Tulane, Nebraska (2/3 on the road), FIU (2/3), and South Alabama (1/3) really helped that run.

At 38 would it take 26 automatic bids to keep the Ragin' Cajuns out of the post season tournament or is there other justification for doing so? Thank you and I do read all your writings.

No. You cannot think of it this way due to the RPI not being a strict ordering as well as the automatic bid.

There are 30 automatic bids and 34 at-large bids. There are many schools in the Top 37 that will be getting automatic bids.

Any word yet on where we're headed? I don't catch ESPN here down in this 53rd world country.
