when it comes to dealing with schools like this, the NCAA knows they cheat but if they find out and that school lies, that's when they're screwed. LSU didn't and they get a slap on the wrist. It wouldn't bother me if the NCAA treated every school like this. but they don't. If this was us and we cooperated, we would get more than a slap on the wrist.

But like a poster said, they (a&m) didn't do the real criminal stuff like handing out T-shirts. I don't think even a&m could have escaped that (sarcasm off)

Mostly it was for using "burner phones." Coaches use pre-paid cell phones to contact recruits outside of the purview of the NCAA. When someone gets hot to the number, the phone is trashed. All cash, no paper trail.

But what happens to a school that commits another violation while they are on probation?

Isn't LSU also talking to the NCAA about the $$$ paid to a recruiter? and isn't that a different inquiry than these punishments?
