  1. UL Baseball Cajun pRPI ...

The Cajun pRPI remains at #37.

This pRPI includes tie games (per the NCAA RPI formula) as well as the estimated bonuses and penalties.

The Cajuns are also #37 in the base pRPI formula. This includes tie games, but does not includes bonuses and penalties.

Top 100 base pRPI Cajun opponents: (pRPI, base pRPI), (W-L record vs.)

    Northwestern State (36, 40) (3-0)
    Wichita State (43, 39) (1-0)
    St. John's (49, 47) (2-0)
    ---
    Miami Ohio (52, 53) (1-0)
    South Alabama (55, 61) (2-1)
    Florida International (56, 54) (2-1)
    South Florida (61, 59) (1-0)
    Lamar (64, 60) (1-1)
    ---
    Texas State (86, 91) (1-0)
    Middle Tennessee (90, 90) (2-1)
    Hawaii (99, 100) (0-1)
    Harvard (101, 99) (1-0)

    The Cajuns are ...
0-0 vs. the pRPI Top 25
6-0 vs. the pRPI Top 50
13-3 vs. the pRPI Top 75

Well the good news is, that the teams with a RPI over 100 wont be in the tournament!

Apparently this team plays up and down based on their opponents talent!

Only UL and Middle have a matching RPI, any significance there?

No, it just means that on a relative basis that the summation of the bonuses and penalties were not enough to move up or down a position in the ratings. Of course the RPI % for the base pRPI and pRPI were different (this would be a statistical oddity if they were not).

You typically see good teams with good schedules benefit from the bonuses. Although, conference games are no longer included in the bonuses/penalties. And of course, only road wins are eligible for bonuses and home losses for penalties.

A win over Middle Tennessee tonight and tomorrow and assuming South Alabama beats New Orleans and we would match up and win this would help out our rpi somewhat.

Note: We are @ 47 wins and 49 wins is the school record.. Geaux Cajuns

50 wins would be nice to accomplish THIS weekend. But do we have the pitching to pull it off... backs against the wall.

One game at a time and hope one of our pitchers get hot and save the bullpen as much as possible.
