So $5 million a year it is. If we're playing Price is Right rules, CajunFan3406 wins. Good thing for Ladarius is that, at only 4 years long, he'll get to have a go at another big contract before it's over.

    Good call.

Yes, this is a solid contract for Green. If he plays well during the life of the contract he has a chance to get another 3-4 year deal worth even more. He'd only be 29 at the end of those 4 years.

Although as a Saints fan, I'm very discouraged seeing the reportings of PeeWee's deal compared to Fleener's. I feel they overpayed for Fleener, and obviously Green did not see enough with the Saints to draw much interest. And also this makes me think the Saints scouting and front office is even more suspect than I already think they are if they think Fleener is worth $2 mil a year better than PeeWee. Only justification for the amount they spent is the limited pool of young TE's on the FA market. I'm not crazy about Fleener. He had 4 years in Indy with his old college QB and I feel like he never really figured things out.

My only guess is they expect Fleener is a much better blocker than Peewee.

If you've got good hands and a decent move Brees will deliver over and over. Might be the concession issue or blocking. No doubt in my mind at this stage Brees can deliver to tight end better than Luck. Only QB playing as good at that tight end pass is Brady.

I like the saints but I'm glad Green is going to a better program. Hope the best for him and that he stays healthy

Yes, he definitely is going to a better program. They will be stacked offensively, and they can further rebuild their defense through this year's draft.

Hawks lost DT Mebane, OG Sweezy (not a rapper unfortunately), and DE Irvin. Resigned CB Lane, and DT Rubin. Wish they would trade Jimmy Graham for more picks.

Steeler management has talent figure out for decades. Saints not so much. Another shinning example. Tight ends are receivers to the Brees led offence, not blockers.

    Miller - 60 games - 255 receptions - 2705 yards

So while Gates is a much more well known TE and the star of the Sand Diego receiving corps, the starting TE in Pittsburgh (Miller) has been utilized just as much as Gates over the last few years.

Heath Miller announced his retirement last month. I think Ladarius is coming into a great passing offense and his upside is very high.
    A+ on this comparison
