Thread: Tracking the Preaux Career of Louisiana's Ladarius Green

This gets kinda funny sometimes. I'm watching linemen do the standing broad jump. I know it supposedly shows strength, agility and whatever...but I've never heard anyone recall that Michael Oehr was great in the broad jump so they just KNEW he'd be awesome in the NFL.

I love Green too but his route running needs work, he's a bit lazy and predictable on his cuts. Part of that is how lanky he is but I can see him getting even better. I think he will really be able to show off his athleticism and speed and that's going to count for something.

I'm not worried about the bench press. We all know LG is a hybrid player, not a traditional TE and he's in a group with a lot of traditional ones. Little less bulk and raw strength, more hands and speed. When guys like Mayock ranked him as a top 5 TE, they knew his strengths and weaknesses and still had him top 5

I am surely not an NFL expert, but I also think he will be selected by a team looking to use him more as a big receiver than a traditional TE. It just seems to me that he will be closer to a Colston than a third OT.

TEs are on the field now.

Mayock's top 2 aren't working out. Peewee up now

4.80 on his first run. Should probably improve next one

4.48 listed on the chart was that his second run?

Not sure about the time. Looked faster than 4.8. May have been a mistype on tv. 2nd best broad jump at 10-4. 6th best vertical at 34.5" but only 1.5" under the top so very little difference

He's acquitting himself very well. They also mentioned Bentley as another Ragin Cajun working out later.

That is my hope as well. I see him more of a huge sure-handed WR, that can block. That is what I believe he'll end up as, if he ends up with the right NFL program. The roster might always have him listed as a TE, but I think he'll evolve into a great big WR that can also block like a traditional TE when necessary. What an awesome hybrid to have on your team!

I can almost guarantee it was faster than 4.8 and they probably transposed the decimal from 4.48 to 4.80, esp bc his 10 yd split was pretty good
