    UL Football Tracking the Preaux Career of Louisiana's Ladarius Green

    Just wondering what you guys think he'll play at the next level? He'll have to put on about 20 lbs to be a solid NFL tight end. I wonder if some coach wouldn't see the huge mismatch (ala Marcus Colston) that a 6'6" 240 lb WR creates especially in the red zone. Just trying to get a discussion going.... What do you guys think?

    I'm pretty sure he will be drafted as a WR. I guess that can all change if he decides to bulk up a bit but Ladarius hasn't really added that much weight in his time here. I don't see him putting on 20-30 pounds to try to play TE. I also don't know how successful he'd be blocking many of the NFL's DE's and LB's.

    Unless he bulks up a ton....i see him as a WR because of his height speed and for how athletic he is.

    He is the perfect TWEENER!!!!! Put him where he causes defenses the most problems-----I like a short slot where he can seal block on outside runs, get quick passes over the middle or outside the box, or just stretch the field -----In a Nick. or dime I like him one on one with one of the lilliputian 3rd and long def. backs!!!!!

    Shannon Sharpe was a swole dude. LG projects as a WR unless he can put on 30-50 pounds of muscle in a year.

    Ladarius is 6-6 236. Jimmy Graham is 6-6 260. Jimmy is an ideal sized NFL TE so Ladarius is probably better fit as a WR. Plus he basically is a WR for us cause he lines up in the slot an awful lot

    HUD kinda alluded to it today in a way---but I think that our other TE (Maxwell) is gonna surprise many folks this year---remember at 6'4" and a 38" vertical jump he can do harm on nickel and dime backs!!!!!

    LG=Marques Colston.

    Good question. I think it depends on a couple of things. How well he shows out as a blocker and what his 40 time is. If he goes higher than about 4.55-4.6 teams will be hesitant to use him as a WR. Ultimately, I see him as a Tight end. I think that is where he can make his mark.

    First off, he is a very underrated blocker. second, if you use 40 times to determine whether he can be an NFL WR then it's a good thing you're not a GM. Jerry Rice ran a 4.7 And I guarantee LG will run a better 40 than that
    He isn't big enough (weight wise) to be a TE. I seem him being a WR. and a damn good one at that.

    You're not a General manager either, so our opinions mean about the same. Jerry Rice is very much the exception rather than the rule. How many big time WR's in today's game are running 4.7's? Marques Colston ran in the mid 4.5's at the combine. He is on the low end of what NFL teams look for in the 40. Of course, this is just opinion.

    There are some hybrids out there today. Look at Dallas Clark, heck even Jimmy Graham and Jeremy Shockey. They split out like WR's, but stay close to the line. They are fast enough to get where they need to and big enough to block. It's pretty cool to see Clark block when Manning calls one of those audible sweep plays.
