In the spirit of Homecoming 2002 theme for students “Blazing Trails...A New Ragin’ Cajun Era,” the Homecoming Concert by the Wind Ensemble will feature music from different eras.

The show, which starts at 7:30 p.m. in Angelle Hall on Nov. 1, opens with “Fanfare for a New Era” by Jack Stamp. The Wind Ensemble will then present music from the war years, jazz age and even modernism.

Highlights will be “Incantation and Dance” and “Storyville.” The latter recalls the birth of jazz in the red light district of New Orleans around the turn of the century. This performance will be the Louisiana premier of “Storyville” - the first time it is ever played in the state which inspired it.

The concert is open and free to the public. Conductor is William Hochkeppel. For more information, call 482-5669.
