This is women's soccer also. Just like women's basketball it's just an awful version of the men's version. If women's sport ever catch on in American we are in trouble.

You are all way off base. Sorry Jeff. Cant side with you on this one. If you watched this game and didn't come out impressed regardless of the score, don't watch another soccer game, and let us true fans enjoy the game without ridicule from the football only crowd.

And hawk, I normally enjoy your cynical posts, but I feel like letting one of these girls give you a nice groin shot for even mentioning womens soccer in the same sentence as womens basketball.... And I will agree that womens basketball is painful to watch

No need to be PC....women sports are awful. It's the truth. At least softball gets it. Change the game to better suit women's anatomies. Basketball, soccer, and golf just try and pass off women's sports as an alternative...and they are not. I watched one half of this world cup and turned it off because comparing this to men's world cup is like comparing Mickey Mantle to Mickey Tettleton. No comparison.

I'm the exact opposite of politically correct. I played soccer from 4 years old til my senior year of high school and many other sports as well. My senior year, our boys basketball team could've beaten any wnba team no question. We had a better soccer team then basketball, and there is no way in hell our team could've competed with the girls you saw on the pitch today. I do enjoy Cajuns softball because I am a friend of the lotiefs and a big Cajuns fan. Would I watch it with no true affiliation... Probably not. And same said for most womens sports. But I truly believe the girls that were out there today are pretty damn good.

You can't watch the games expecting the men's game, because it is obvious that the games are going to be different.

I'm sure you watch men's college sports, even though they are done better, by better athletes at the professional level. Are you may even like high school sports which is a huge drop off from college.

Comparing women's sports to men's sports is silly. Everyone knows the strength and athleticism will not be the same. However, unlike watching our men's team, our women's team, IMO has a great mentality. It's a shame that they came up short.

As far as women's sports catching on in the country. The will never be as popular as men's sports, but the game yesterday I'm sure drew a very respectable ranking.

Really enjoyed the women's World Cup. Never really understand why some would say it's not worth watching cause they're not as good as men. So we shouldn't follow and support our UL softball team cause they're not as fast or as strong as men?

    Not smart statements.

I like soccer but a change in the rules need to be made. Get rid of the offside and you will have scoreing and a wide open game.......
