BAYOU CHICOT, La. (AP) - A one-car accident on La. Highway 106 has claimed the life of a Ville Platte teen.

State police say 17-year-old Jeannine Shafer was pronounced dead at the scene of the 4 a.m. Sunday accident on La. 106 just east of its intersection with U.S. Highway 167.
