After two years of planning, and six weeks of being on display, today is the last day for the public to view the traveling Smithsonian exhibit entitled "Journey Stories" in St. Martinville. "Journey Stories" tells the story of the shaping of the United States by an unquenchable desire on the part of Americans for travel and mobility. From the first Europeans to explore the New World, to modern-day immigration to this country, "Journey Stories" is an exhibit that will educate all who come and visit.

Today is the last day to see this exhibit in St. Martinville. The hours that the public and come and view this exhibit are from 10:00 a. m. - 4:30 p.m. The exhibit will close for an hour and a half and reopen at 6:00 p.m. for one final hour, closing it's doors forever at 7:00 p.m.

At 7:30, across the street from the Maison Duchamp - where the Smithsonian exhibit is on display - there will be a thirty minute play, performed by two women of the Evangeline Players, about the struggle of the Acadian people to settle in Louisiana. Following the play, there will be a discussion about the history of Evangeline and a closing reception.

The Smithsonian exhibit and the play are all free to the public. If you have been waiting to come visit St. Martinville and to see this exhibit, today is your last chance.
