I'm too young for the Brian Mitchel era, but here's my 5 favorite.
1. A&M
2. K-State
3. Troy 05
4. Ark State 08
5. Destroying Kent State 08

For me, it's Texas A&M and the Ark. St. final Brian Mitchel game. Both games left me emotionaly spent and with lifetime memories.
Texas A&M, then Arkansas State in 2008 as a distant second.
I had forgotten about the Northeast game. That was a great one too. Prudhomme's touchdown run from around mid-field was classic. My wife and I were at the game with a large number of friends. They all left at half time to go to the post-game party, but we stayed. When we showed up after the game and told them that the Cajuns won, they didn't beleive us. They had to turn on the radio to confirm it. That was hillarious. Great come back win.
Anyone remember the Tulane game when Jake threw a 4th down TD to Stokely to win the game in the Dome?
The games at Tulane were the best away games we had. Sure wish we could start that series again. Doesn't matter if we play 3 for 1. It was like a home game for us anyway and the tailgating in the Dome was unbelievable.
I remember all the games against Tulane but this one sticks out to me the most. That ball seemed to hang in the air forever and when it finally came down, the roar from the cajun crowd in the dome was deafening.
Other than the obvious a&m and k-state games, The stAte game in 08 was a blast to listen to over the internet. There was another game against them a few years before that for homecoming where we got up big early then had to make a goal line stand on 4th down with no time remaining to keep them from tying the game.
But the game that was the best for me was in I think 90 or 91. We were pretty horrible and started out like 0-6. Louisiana Tech came to town. We tied up the game at 14 late and then they missed the go ahead field goal with no time remaining. Ended in a tie but that was probably one of the best feelings I had ever leaving Cajun Field.
That nlu game is still the biggest comeback I've EVER seen in any football game!! The CAJUNS were down 0-26 at halftime, then Dwight Prudhomme comes in in the 2nd half and throws for over 300 yards and they ring up SEVEN un-answered scores to win 42-26!! I remember telling some of my Band-mates after the game that it looked like the teams switched uniforms at halftime!!! I was also at the A&M game and remember my friends and I running down off the north-side infield onto the field after the game and helping them take down that goal post!!
I'm not sure what I game I would rank #1
The "best game ever played" should be a somewhat balanced win, with offense, defense and special teams all doing their fair share to generate the win.
The Texas A&M win (for me) is weighted to heavily on turnovers to get top rank on "best game ever played"
I'm OK with calling it "best win" at The Swamp.

The best win I've ever seen at the swamp was definitely the K-State win, but I only really started following when I started going to college in 2002. For me though, regardless of venue, the 2006 Houston win on the road is the most amazing win I've ever watched in person. That was also the best team that the Cajuns have beaten since I started watching them, that Houston team was loaded with talent.
There were 2 things that made that win extra satisfying, 1) they had beaten us the previous 5 years in a row and 2) they were the sorry S.O.B.'s that turned us in for so the called ineligible player that cost us the Conference Championship and an Independence Bowl game.
