  1. UL Football THANKS TO USC(Really)..... Paper Tigers

    Posts copied from other threads

    LSU will now forever be known outside of Baton Rouge, as the other team that won the National Championship that one year in football. You never know....there may come a time where the Paper Tigers get dropkicked year in and out by Louisiana. It's about to start in basketball and I think we take 2 of 3 in baseball every time. Thanks Trojans!

    You know, I don't post here very often, but when I do, I try to be as cordial as possible. You.....are a babling clown! Yes the is a cajun board! But what's with all of the bull ~~~~~ you are posting here about LSU? Apparently, from what I can see, nobody on this board finds you that amusing. You sound like some sort of child that had someone take something from him, not to mention you are acting like an idiot also!!
    Listen to what Daddy Cajun told you on a previous post.....focus on the cajuns and cajuns only! You should listen to him as he always seems to post with class, integrity, and sense!! People like you worry more about what goes on with LSU rather than worry about your own school which desperately needs your help!! Now, get a life and take that pacifier out of your mouth!! To the rest of you cajun fans, sorry for the ranting!
    Good luck in the regionals!!

    As much of a diehard Cajun fan I am, I have to agree with King Tiger. If we focus our energy on rejoicing in someone else's misfortune as the key to our success, we will be sorely disappointed. It's a childish thing to do and shows a lack to class.

    I also remember how many times we've complained that LSU gets all the attention and that they shouldn't be the only ones who are allowed to do good and progess and get press. Why? Because we were of the opinion that if all schools have success and get attention, then the state is better for it. That being said, how can we still believe this, yet rejoice when LSU does bad.

    I personally feel like we should try to improve our relationship with LSU and their fans. Who knows, maybe on the weekends that LSU isn't playing homegames in (name whatever sport here), they might actually come and support us, ...........IF we show them respect. I can't tell you how happy I was when I'd see LSU hats and shirts at our games this past year, because to me it said "Hey I'm an LSU fan, but I also wanna support UL."

    Anyhoo, kudos to the future.

    God Bless.

    UL Baseball New Regional Predictions

    We are now predicted to go to the Oxford, Miss regional hosted by Ole Miss and the Cajuns being a # 2 seed. I guess as our rpi and sos(strength of schedule) weakens it will make it harder for us to get a # 1 seed moreless a host regional. I do however fell like if we win the sunbelt conference and the sunbelt tourney we will get a # 1 seed somewhere. The games we should have won against the weaker teams can sometimes come back to bite you and do add up when they start nickle and diming you. Out of our 11 game lost I believe 8 or 9 are to teams with lower rpi's and losing records.

  5. UL Baseball Re: New Regional Predictions

    That would be SAWEEEEEET. I know Ole Miss is no pushover by any means, but I prefer that over New Orleans or Houston.(knowing that they won't send us to BR to beat the Paper Tigers.)

  6. Ragin' Cajuns Re: THANKS TO USC(Really).....

    Thanks, Sid!! You are correct, as Cajun fans we need to promote ourselves and not worry about what we can not control. I wish we were hosting a Regional this year, because if LSU were not, I know that many friends would in fact be here supporting our Cajuns. In fact, many have been here throughout the year when there was not a conflict at The Box; Dallas Morris has a large following of Tiger fans. Tiger fans understand the sport of baseball and recognize good play, and they recognize a good Cajun team this year. I only wish that we could escalate the appreciation of the game itself, with our fan base at Tigue Moore field; we often are too caught up in being Cajun fans and not "baseball" fans. A crowd of "baseball" fans, at The Box, is one of the reasons that teams from across America seek out the experience of playing there; we can do the same here. Again, Sid....you are correct, we need to worry about ourselves and continue to make the strides we are making; this year's baseball team is helping our cause. If only we could get into a conference that would do something for our RPI and SOS. A SOS of 92nd in the nation does not help us. We need to play Texas in football, this year, and have a good/respectable showing....that is how we help ourselves, and I know Coach Bustle will have us prepared. LSU....they do what they need to do; four consecutive New Years Day bowls with a National Championship mixed in.....and they will have another banner year. We are going to drive away all LSU support, much needed support, from our program by siding with those left coast freaks. Pete Carroll, along with every other BCS coach, agreed to play by the BCS system; they need to live with it. We are having a GREAT year in baseball, let's enjoy the rest of the season and the post season.....wherever the NCAA decides to send us. Hopefully, to the northeast as we can dominate a region up ther........GEAUX CAJUNS!!

    Default this a.m. on Stevie P's show

    a guy called in with an espn-like poll question. said he and his lsu fan buddy had a discussion about what the most momentous thing in cajun athletic history was. the guy said these five, with the lsu guy of course touting the negatives:

    --basketball death penalty;
    --baldwin's team setting the ncaa record for points given up in a season;
    --win over mediocre a & m;
    --losing at the college world series [the lsu fan guy said lsu won-is he right?];
    --water-ski national title, at least according to the sign on hwy 90.

    what do y'all think? stevie thought it was beating the 6-6 a&m juggernaut. a subsequent caller was impressed with 11 losses in a row to mcneese running the cajuns to new division. of course the name change was a close second in time magazine's most important event of the year awhile back.

    He presented himself as a UL fan, but it was evident to me, he was none the sort.

    I wish Stevie P. hadn't nixed it the historical subject, it could have been fun.

    ps in 2000 it was LSU 6-5 over Standford, I was rooting for LSU.

    Congratulations, Turbine.....I knew that you had class. Most of us were rooting for the Tigers, once we were eliminated. If we couldn't ge the chance to slash the west coast freaks, glad the Tigers could.

    Yes, Oxford would be a good fit for us. Unless we could go to the northeast, somewhere, as a # 1 seed. No, they won't send us to Baton Rouge, at least as long as Skip is around and has the stroke that he has. You know, we did get a little out of hand with that whole Regional appearance over there. We also got a little out of hand in Columbia, South Carolina and in Omaha with Clemson. We just like that "in your face" baseball which doesn't fly very well with baseball traditionalist and umpires. Besides, once we show our frustration over any little thing, as we do, we are usually done......UALR??? We must keep our composure if we are to get the respect that we so desperately seek.......GEAUX CAJUNS

    You really don't think that the LSU followers, true followers, are concerned about us, Southern, ULM, SLU, LaTech, Tulane, Etc.......do you? Most of those folks probably read the morning paper for LSU Sports information, and then see how all of the other state schools are doing. Probably, especially watching Tulane, as they have a real chance of winning it all this year. I am sure that they wish all of us well, realizing that if ever we meet on the same field, court, etc. that the game will be decided by the athletes who participate and not by our "cajun nation". I wish we could debate some of their fans in this forum, but they are probably busy with sights like SECsports.com, warrennolan.com, rolltide.com, ncaasports.com, razorbacks.com, etc.. I really don't hink that we threaten the LSU faithful, Tulane faithful or Southern faithful. We can make a difference if we stay focussed and do some damage in the upcoming tournaments.....GEAUX CAJUNS!!
