Here's an overlooked one: Leadrew Johnson, '83. He was an undersized nosetackle (5'11", 210) during the 5-2 defense era under head coach Sam Robertson. Lettered 3 years. Active as the dickens. Great motor. Hit like a brick. Out of Baker H.S. Solid, solid, solid. He had to threaten to quit before Sam gave him a scholarship. (That's just the way Sam was with his players.)
Does anyone know what Hud's policy is on walk-ons? I love these walk-on success stories. I used to follow Nebraska under Osborne just because they encouraged walk-ons. I hear that the Evil Empire in B.R. does not have a welcoming attitude to walk-ons. What is Hud's stance?
