Two marsh fires in the Sabine National Wildlife Refuge have been burning since lightning struck the area Saturday night. Incident Commander Larry Smith tells KATC a firefighting helicopter is being used to dump water on the fire which has so far burned 3,600 acres. Firefighters will let the fire burn out on it's own, but they're using water to prevent flames from reaching surrounding private land. The fire is burning south of Hackberry in Cameron Parish.
