A Lafayette woman was killed in an early morning house fire in Lafayette's River Ranch neighborhood. The victim has been identified as 51 year old Belinda Bass Schoeffler, who was found lying on the floor in the home.

Firefighters were first called to 105 Roswell Crossing just before 8:00 a.m. Sunday. On arrival they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the home.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
