Bobbitt on a roll. Nice not the HAVE to pitch Brooke.
Crystal George was the only member of Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns who wasn't granted a spot on the All-Sun Belt Conference softball team, but she stepped into the spotlight in a big way on Thursday in Bowling Green, Ky.
The senior left fielder clubbed a solo home run to left center field off Kristina Fowler to regain the lead for the No. 1-seeded Cajuns after North Texas had tied the game 2-2, providing the winning run in a 4-2 victory that propelled UL into today's 4 p.m. semifinals.
The 48-8 Cajuns, who have never lost a Sun Belt Tournament game and are 17-0 all-time in the event, will play host Western Kentucky, a 4-0 winner over Florida International in Thursday's late quarterfinal.
WKU is the only team with a win over UL in the Sun Belt regular season this year.
"We weren't really worried," George said of the fifth inning. "We just had to come back out and fight every pitch and make her come to us because the umpire had a tight strike zone today.
"The home run came on an inside pitch, and I was expecting it because Coach Mike (Lotief) said it was coming. I kind of stepped out on it and went with it. I was just thinking, get the barrel on it and not get jammed like I had earlier against her.
"I just wanted to get the sweet spot on it."

Crystal made the "selection gurus" pay for not nominating her. They should have checked with the Ragin Cajun fans before they made their "boo-boo".Originally Posted by NewsCopy
