We were mad when they kicked us out of Nova Scotia......let us be proud of what we have built....GEAUX CAJUNS!!!
Actually, there wasn't much banter on this forum about LSU really until today, when you and Sonsissymia really brought up these issues. Although some people here care about LSU, most don't, now if you want to be acknowledged as a Cajun fan, I suggest talking about Cajun athletics instead of continuously bringing up this lame duck topic.

P.S. I'm not going to get into an argument about the Name Issue, but please for the love of god, don't come here and lecture me on what I can and can't call the university I attend. You can call it whatever you want, but just because you call it that doesn't mean I have to.

Yes how transparent is your post tiger bait?! Call us what you feel the need to as WE will determine as Students, alumni, business owners, doctors, lawyers, professors, media, athletes, ACADIANA what UL, LOUISIANA'S RAGIN CAJUNS, UNIVERSITY OF LOUISIANA becomes, NOT U especially, or any of your croans!!!

Name changes have ALWAYS been fought by the flagship and its legislative alumni, but all name changes came to pass and this one is NOT finished passing, so you may not want to get in the way else things could get messy, real messy.

Is this the Dana Terro that graduated from Acadiana? If so, for shame, for shame you bring to Acadiana the school and the Area!!

I'm sorry he might not be old enough to remember the fight on the name change. The ugliness displayed toward our University and town is burned into all those memories that were old enough to be there. Telling us to forgive and forget is ridiculous. Why does LSU look west to see what we are up to, when they should be looking east to see what other schools in the SEC or up to. And don't tell me there not watching and don't care. When we start winning for real in football and packing the stadium, and we will, you'll see the ugly tiger com a risin. I've been around long enough to tell you "been there, seen it."

If he is a rue Cajun fan, how does he know all of the LSU web sites. I could care less where there chat rooms are and wouldn't know where to look.

  9. Alumni Re: We Need to Grow Up

This is just starting to get old. I graduated from UL and received a 1st class education. I have a great job. I did not graduate from a 2nd class university. I am a Cajuns fan. They are not the best football team in the state, but they are my team. The saints are not the best NFL team in the country (God knows), but I will sit in front of the TV every sunday and get P***ed off if they lose. The future of UL will depend on how many of us believe that we attended the best university in the country and will support it. Join the Alumni Association, attend the games, support our accedemics, employ our graduates. My daughter has never said "The University of Louisiana at Lafayette." She only knows daddy went to UL and he's a ragin cajun. She is too. Laws and lawyers cannot stop a cultural revolution.

There has to be a better place to put energy than this waste of time....I've been sucked into the abyss. My life blood is being drained out

LSU, LSUA&M, ULL, UL, USL, there I've said them all. I didn't see one thing about FOOTBALL, BASEBALL, or BASKETBALL. What are the priorities here?

    Love, Peace, and Hairgrease!

LSUAMCBR promotes Louisiana??? I don't think so. LSUAMCBR promotes LSUAMCBR. As stated earlier, mabye you were not informed about the name change in the 80's. Here is a link that will give you a little insight. http://www.angelfire.com/la3/ulragincajuns/battle.html

The site is a little outdated and some of the numbers are even more impressive now. If you can read this and still honestly say that LSUABCBR promotes the state, then there is no hope for you. You are one who believes that the betterment of LSUAMCBR is paramount, even when in obvious contradiction with simple logic and reason.

As for Lafayette, it does pretty well in promoting itself. It is the highest ranked city in the state for doing business. The University has also helped on the technology front. Entrepreneur magazine has cited Lafayette as one of four places in the nation that are doing an exceptional job of attracting high-tech businesses much in part because of the success of UL. http://www.lafayette.org/site85.php Does this not promote our state?

The list of impresive statistics on the city, the surrounding area (Acadiana) and UL can go on and on. And yes, by impressive I mean things that promote the state of Louisiana. Alternatively, the list of actions taken in the name of the "flagship," resulting in detriment to both the state in general and the state's reputatiaon is also pretty long. Mabye "flagship" fanatics (including legislators) should concentrate on the betterment of their own institution, rather than attempting to keep other flourishing universities in the state down. Soon, the futility of such efforts will be realized and the success of UL will be apparant...to everyone. By the way...how is that LSUAMCBR dean doing with his kiddie porn?

    GEAUX CAJUNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
