Hats off to the Ragin' Cajuns of Louisiana. They set a record for baseball attendanc e this season, averaging 3,313, easily topping the Belt and coming in at No. 18 in the country. Pretty impressive for a Belt school to get in the top 20 in any sport.

"The odd part is FAU has had more success than the Cajuns on the diamond through the years, and more than most teams in the Belt, but has never been able to draw."

Yeah right! It's my belief that the Cajuns have been the most successful through the years.

How many regional appearances, regional wins, and trips the college world series have they had "through the years?"

guys - the facts don't have "opinions". As hard as it is for you to admit it, FAU has had more success in the last 10 years than UL.

UL - in the last 10 years: 4 NCAA tourney appearances, no super regs, 2 SBC regular season or tournament championships.
FAU - in the last 10 years: 5 NCAA, 1 super regional, 3 SBC reg season or tourney champs.

even if you add in 2000, you only add 1 tourney appearance, no conference championships. "Through the years" is a relative term, but recent (10 yrs) times have clear facts.

Give FAU their credit and thank this guy for crediting the best fans in the conference.

I do like your loyalty though - Go Cajuns!

Yeah. That CWS trip was a looooong time ago.

To put in perspective, students that will be graduating high school next spring were just leaving Kindergarten when we went to Omaha.

He didn't say "recent" he said "through the years."

UL baseball goes back to 1901, 1911 and 1939 respectivly

FAU started baseball in 1981 and didn't become D1 till 1994

FAU's first postseason appearance was 1999 when UL was in a Super regional.

So if you want to compare equally "through the years." UL has to its credit 12 different NCAA Postseason appearances . . . to what, 7?

People, you can't bring out facts in an argument that no one will go against the Cajuns. FAU has been more successful in the last 10 years than the Cajuns. We have become an average program to slightly above average.

I call 2 or 3 years as recently, not a decade.

82 brought up decade, the anchor comment on this topic is the term "through the years" which I define as "ever" or "all time."

And the dude that wrote the article is probably barely out of high school.
