You my friend apparently do not watch practice with a football sense do you? John will open eyes you will see. John played in 5A, the toughest disrict in the state. Acadiana runs the veer, so how can John be slow to run this offense? Alley, Matt Richard didn't hurt in the backfield also but John is a smart player with a GREAT ARM! John's lil brother is also a big time Div 1 player waiting in the wings with one more year to go for him.

A walk on? Are you crazy man, this kid is better than anything UL has now! 6'4" 225lbs & runs 4.5's getting letters from every big name. Wake up dude!

Thanks everyone. It's real hard to keep up with high school players sounds like there are a few studs in the Cutrera family. Anyone have tackles or completion percentage, any old statistic will do.

I guessing John threw for around 1500 yards his senior year & his lil 6'4" brother did have a great year, not really sure (tackles). John I hope will get his chance. You would think that they (UL) may play it smart by giving John some respect w/ lil Cutrera viewing how they handle this. Hmmmmmmmm.........we will have to see.

    Great point.

I would hope the coaches are more balanced than the fans. We are a tad emotional, the bigger the school the more emotional the fans (it seems)

I have always contended that some of the best athletes in the world never see college in the first place because of the style of play at the High School they attended. You can NEVER discount a players abilities or room for growth when he believes in himself.

This goes for walkons in college and the undrafted in the NFL; Jake Delhomme.

Great point also on Jake's past. Whew, the Saints bobbled that so bad. Jake is the EXAMPLE everyone should pay attention to. Turbine, your one of the few on these sites w/ common football knowledge. I reside in Red Stick & graduated from USL. I know of many kids they can persue, but they seem to "slip" away. I think $$$ is still a problem @ Ul's football operations. I don't expect them to recruit kids in California or Washington state, but when they have a real "jewel" or "jewels" in Lafayette areas, well that goes without any excuses. Later my brother............

What's the outlook for these new recruits?

I live in Houston now and did not realize the younger Cutrera is only a Junior in High School, this explains why there has not been any scholarship offers yet. I would still like to see him in a Cajun uni in two years.
