Yes, Troy joins the Sun Belt next season. They do have a decent baseball team this year. They lead a good Atlantic Sun conference going into a crucial home series against second place Central Florida this weekend. But UCF smoked Troy 19-8 tonight to cut the Troy lead to one game.

A strong Florida Atlantic squad (also from the Atlantic Sun) will be joining as well. FAU has earned a #2 seed several times and finished second in the Coral Gables regional last season winning two games. FAU won the Tuscaloosa regional in 2002, before losing to Georgia Tech in the super-regionals.

Sounds like the SunBelt will back on track in baseballnext year. By that I mean I hope they get back to being ranked 7th as a conference.

Not until the next round of moves. And it will depend on whether or not the football program gets turned around. Successful football will also be instrumental in expanding the athletic budget which is extremely lacking. The current budget is not attractive to CUSA.

A friend of mine, a poor misguided soul, is a member of the TAF. I was asking him exactly what it did and how it worked. He said that as big as it is and as much money that it generates for LSpuke, it is something that the other SEC schools were doing for years, and that LSpuke was way behind the curve.

I pose this question to anyone out there. Why don't we have something similar, or do we? If we do, how can I get involved? If we don't, lets get it going. If those idiots in Baton Rouge can do it, we certainly can. It seems like now is the time to do something like this with the renewed enthusiasm in the community for UL.
