Man I am impressed with this hire. A highly qualified coach with an excellent record, a graduate of UL, and a coach with local ties who is likely to stay a while.

Sounds to me like another big winning hire by Farmer.

I sure hope Interim Head Coach Paula Ogunbanjo stays on board, she did a very good job improving the team while she was here. It would be nice to have both on board.

Back in 1995 Lon was my personal pole vault coach, along with a few others from the Lafayette area...I was in Junior High but even then he was a GREAT coach! He had the ability to get the most out of me and the others who he trained. A few of those he did train ended up being State Champions and successful vaulters at the DI level. I'm happy he is back home!

I think it's an excellent hire for the program. A proven winner at ASU.

It may take some time to get his recruits in. The field should have marked improvement. That should always be the foundation for a great program.
