The 6-9 center is certainly one of the hot commodities on the college basketball recruiting scene these days. According to Northside coach Rick LeBato, the list of schools contacting Stevenson at school last week includes Mississippi State, Georgia Tech, Baylor, Texas Tech, Kentucky, LSU and the hometown Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns.
Among the coaches and assistant coaches who have either visited Lafayette to speak to Stevenson or have visits scheduled are: Mississippi State assistant Robert Kirby, Kentucky assistant Reggie Hansen, Baylor head coach Scott Drew, Georgia Tech head coach Paul Hewitt, Texas Tech assistant Pat Knight, Texas head coach Rick Barnes, LSU coaches John Brady and Butch Pierre and UL assistant Rennie Bailey.
Stevenson also turned down requests from Connecticut and Illinois.
