Thats not a bad idea. LSU mixes it up with Perilloux and Matt Flynn. It worked pretty well for them in the 2nd half.

I know one thing, for the 4th game in a row the defense has not been able to stop the opposing team when they run to the right.

Nope! I guess my optimism comes from decades of Saints football. If you want I can break out my Jim Everett jersey.

I think we are already and have been for a decade of the dark ages of Louisiana football. I don't know the answer. Hustle up and Bustle seems to be an ad from the past that has lost all meaning.

I believe that was a "Chris Everett" jersey...

It seems like every week we hear, "But we were playing a really good team".....What we really need is the other guys saying that about us!! Last year was supposed to be where we turned the corner; This year (with all Bustle recruits & full scholarship placement) was supposed to be "special".

The only think that we've proved to date is that we haven't turned the corner and we're pretty dang far from being "special".

He's a senior..........Alternate Conner with Mike......Try SOMETHING. If we can keep the ball with the offense more, the defense will be on the field less.

We've got to mix it up. _
Well as much as Mike likes to run, put him at tailback even better, sweep him and let him throw.. Conner looked like he was a little quicker too.....

Unfortunately, it's true that all of the teams we've played so far are good teams. No weak sisters among the group. All except for Ohio are having pretty good years. That said, I agree with you that we ought to be winning some of these games. I also thought this was going to be a good year, if not a "special" one. When we gave up the touchdown about 1:20 before the half, I wondered how many times this year we've given up a TD during the last 2 minutes of the half. I turned off the computer and went out to eat. I saw on the TV that we were down 30-6 at the half. I couldn't believe that with less than 2 minutes left in the half that we trailed by a respectable 16-6, but finished the half trailing 30-6! Unbelievable! I did look at the stats after the game and saw some few positives. For the first time this year we actually outscored an opponent in the second half. Also our third down conversion number was pretty decent, and the opponents 3rd down conversions were pretty low (unless the stats were accidentally reversed). Another positive was zero turnovers. Finally, our penalties were low, a definite improvement. BUT the bottom line is we lost AGAIN! That has got to change.

Default I guess it is a new low...

You know things are bad when you go on the forum and see almost nothing about the game played tonight. That means apathy has set in and truthfully, apathy is worse than frustration. Bustle is now officially in baldwins position, where fans aren't mad anymore, they just don't care. So, "How'd we fall this far so quickly" you might ask...simple

    We now have a...
    6 game losing streak
    4 game HOME losing streak,
Have lost 9 of our last 11, with SIX!!! at home (AS IN WE AREN'T PLAYING ON THE ROAD PEOPLE!)
We are tied for 7th longest acting losing streak in the country.

These are ALL bustle's players. We heard last year the excuse "Well, he had a small first recruiting class", "things will be better next year", "6th year is the year"...WELL IS OBVIOUSLY ISN'T!!!! And I'm sorry, the next person I hear say "well ya know, in 2005 we were 1-5 and we came back and we did this and that and won the conference and blah blah blah" I'M GONNA FREAKING GO INSANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ITS NOT 2005, WE SHOULDENT BE PUTTING OURSELVES INTO THAT POSITION TO BE THIS BAD THIS FAR INTO THE SEASON! To use the words of one of my friends "This is bad...like real bad...like 100 foot marshmellow man plowing through downtown manhattan and me without a proton pack bad".

Remember this line...Its great when people are happy and you win, its acceptable when people are mad when you lose, but when people stop saying anything at all, thats when your programs on life support.

    END RANT!

  11. UL Football Desormeaux steps up in Fenroy's absence

ORLANDO, Fla. - With the injury absence of tailback Tyrell Fenroy, UL's football squad had most of its offensive success riding the shoulders of quarterback Michael Desormeaux Saturday against Central Florida.

Desormeaux, who entered the game with three straight 100-yard rushing games, finished with 92 rush yards along with 154 passing yards on a 14-of-29 performance. His 246 offensive yards was most of UL's 314 total in the 37-19 loss to the host Knights.

"He gave a great effort," Cajun coach Rickey Bustle said of the junior from New Iberia. "He had some good throws and he scrambled well. It's a shame he has to do so much. We protected pretty well until right at the end, but he kept us going and made some plays."

Desormeaux will likely maintain his national lead in rushing among quarterbacks, after entering the game 29th nationally in rushing and the QB leader with a 105.5 average.

The next biggest offensive threat, though, was the 51 yards of backup tailback Deon Wallace.

  12. UL Football "We hurt ourselves" Leads to 0-5

ORLANDO, Fla. - Michael Desormeaux can do a lot of things, but he can't carry a full team on his shoulders.

Not when the other team has a player as talented as Central Florida's Kevin Smith.

The UCF junior rushed for 223 yards, his second 200-yard effort of the year, and scored three first-half touchdowns in pacing the Golden Knights to a 37-19 victory over the Cajuns here Saturday.

Smith had an early scoring run of 56 yards and two more one-yard scoring bursts before halftime, one of them coming 80 seconds before the end of the half during what became a disastrous final two minutes for the Cajuns (0-5).
Seconds before the halftime horn, Augustus Ashley stormed in to block a punt and returned it himself 19 yards for a touchdown and a 30-6 Knight lead.

"Here the kids are, playing hard, and we give up that last one," said Cajun coach Rickey Bustle. "But a lot of teams would have laid down after that. This team didn't do that."

"A win is a win," said UCF coach George O'Leary, who got the second win of his Knight career two years ago in Lafayette in a 24-21 win at Cajun Field. "It's a win, but as I told our team we have to play a lot better than that in the coming games. We made some plays, but you can't have penalties and you can't turn it over."
