This conference is growing every year. UL's win over Houston in 06, Troy's win over OK State, FAU's win over Minnesota just to name a few.
These are wins the conference would NOT have had 2-3 yrs ago. It's alot harder to support growth rather than to jump on a Big10 or SEC bandwagon.
Be patient...

I saw on the Ole Miss Roster that they have a transfer from UL?
I don't remember that guy, could be just me not remembering his being here and/or leaving?
Anybody have any info? Or is this incorrect?

You know, calling us Louisiana is what we have been waiting for. But, doing so also benefits our opponents. If you are a fan, would you rather see Louisiana or Louisiana-Lafayette on your schedule? When a team is doing well like UCF is this year, Louisiana sounds like a much more attractive home game and will likely help attendance, regardless of our won-loss record to date. I wish other schools would pick up on that as well. A lot has to do with the information our SID sends to each university.
I play fantsay football of NFL.com, and I noticed on the rosters, they have Louisiana listed on profiles are La.-Lafayette, while ULM is listed as Louisiana-Monroe. I don't know if this is one of the reasons we get refered as "Lafayette"
Marty Booker. http://fubar.football.nfl.com/players/playerpage/133228
Fred Stamps. http://fubar.football.nfl.com/players/playerpage/494534
I think that starts with the information they get from our SID about each player. If we use Louisiana-Lafayette, that is what they will use. If we tell them Louisiana, they will use that. Also, it helps when each player calls us Louisiana, which few do. In last weeks game, Charles Tillman said he was from THE University of Louisiana. When more people in the public use that reference, it will catch on.
Also, one of the major owners of the Houston Texas, 2nd only to Bob McNair is Philip Burguieres, who is Vice Chairman of the Texans. In the football program for each game, there is a full page write up on him and states that he is a graduate of the University of Louisiana. However, one of the starters on the team, Free Safety C.C. Brown, is listed as Louisiana-Lafayette. It is those kind of inconsistencies that are troublesome. I think I will try to contact Mr. Burguires and ask him to change the C.C. Brown reference to the University of Louisiana as he does. We'll see what happens.
Might be a mistake.
They have him as a Sophomore, which would make him a freshman last year. Except I can't find a single UL football reference for Rob Campbell.
2006 signees: Not listed
2006 walkons: Not listed
He might have been enrolled at UL, hoping to walkon at some point in time
