There are certain things in this world that are givens. One is your dislike/hatred of my Alma Mater. I am not that "blind" that I cannot recognize your attitude.

Yes, I believe we will continue to recruit and have decent local talent sign with OURUniversity. It will be a struggle if the attitude by the "fans" continues to permeate the thinking of young people we are recruiting for our athletic teams.

I, for one, do not care for your use of the word "unraveling." You have no proof that there will be other occurances. If you meant to convery that it was meant to portray the future for our athletic recruiting, then it is your opinion based on your feelings. I respect your freedom to do so, but in my opinion I do not see that happening. _

You are right that I have no proof that others will follow Hundley's lead. I thank you for respecting my opinion, and I hope that you are right about continuing to sign local talent.

The picture just looks very bleak at this moment.

I only make it to Lafayette for a couple (2-3) games each year since its a moderately long trip (7-8 hours). As such, I don't see enough to make me "qualified" to say what is wrong or right with the program; but it does seem as though we have regressed. What I saw saturday night was very similar to what I witnessed last year vs MT - - another missed opportunity to get the city of Lafayette (and the region) excited about supporting RC football. Great day for football. Great atmosphere and crowd. And, another laid egg! It was one of the worst games I have witnessed in person. Are we really that bad? The SC and Ohio games gave us hope. This game burst that bubble completely. They looked tight to me, almost playing like "we can't afford to lose this game" instead of going out and just playing the game and letting it come to them. Is that the coaches fault? Do we simply not have enough players to compete better? And "why" didn't someone else get a chance at QB. Whether MD is good/bad or indifferent, he had a terrible game. Give someone else a chance, especially when you know we needed to pass to get points quickly in the 4th. Really, what did we have to lose at that point?
Like many of you I'm frustrated; but I will make the trip over for the NT game and I'm sure I'll see the diehards there.

I know it is frustrating for Hundley, but you should never quit a team mid season. At least thats what my pappy taught me.

So I suppose Bustle did nothing to convince Hundley to stay on the team. This is even worse to stomach, I hope that this won't start a trend with other players quiting.

With that said I am on the fence right now about what needs to be done...Part of me thinks that a change is needed because an attitude change is in order but part of me says I knew this would be a tough season. I think Bustle has had plenty of time to turn it around but then part of me says this program was completely stagnant before he got here. I don't know what to think...I like Bustle I would love for him to completely right the ship but if he doesn't I am starting to feel it might be time to let someone else right it for him. _

I like what you just said, I intended not to comment on anything, just look at this as a lost by a better prepared team and by a TEAM EFFORT. We lost and let's get on with business and continue to try and make things better at whatever cost. If we are to succeed, we must continue to support with pride and continue to support financially. This is hard for some people to understand but I have been a bulldog and CAJUN for 41 years and I will die wearing RED.

_ You are so right, they've never been 1AA. I was at that game. LSU was pompous and arrogant and Miami had a fullback that just kept pounding it down their throat all night. I enjoyed the heck out of it. ha. _

then maybe that experience can work for the cajuns; lsu went on after that loss to win the sec [i doubt 'showdog' enjoyed that, tho'] and play in the sugar bowl. perhaps the cajuns can forget it, turn it around, and go to a bowl of their own in n.o.

LOL!! I believe they stayed away from that one in the second half!!!
