    Doc _
Some fans are trying to be realistic about this game while others are already chalking up the "W". This program cannot afford to chalk up anything right now. The McNeese St. / cajun game this coming Saturday is the BIGGEST game in the history of cajun football. Don't let anyone fool you into thinking otherwise. Clear thiinking fans know what's at stake here and are beginning to worry even more about the McNeese St. game. I'm expecting this to be a real dog fight to the end. You guys have some pretty good talent on your team and your coach is a pretty good one. Hopefully your fans will get treated with respect and not have cuss words thrown at them or get bullied around by the drunks that might be out there in the stadium parking lot tailgating! Have a safe trip and I'm sure they'll try not to kick it to # 7.

Just curious, were there many/any Ohio fans there last night? _
We, the Krewe de Chew, had a good number of Ohio fans visit our tailgating site. Very nice folks. They raved about our tailgating, and the hospitality they were witnessing.

Your AD made a visit. Nice person in the very same mold as the other Ohio folks. I asked if we returned the visit next year. He said no. It would be in 2010. I sure hope it takes place and that I am fit and able to make that trip. I visited the Ohio U website and took the tour of the campus. Beautiful!! It would be a nice place to set up some Cajun tailgating.

Good luck to the Bobcats the rest of the way.

Not to jump on you, but ... is that it? Do we just have to accept that that's the way it is? Can't change Lafayette culture... umm, I guess if that is the case, then we have NO chance to ever be anything more then we are. I find THAT idea very depressing. If we are hitting our heads against the wall like that, then what's the point of even trying. Let's just throw in the towel now and just go partying. Again, not a response directed at you, RE.

I dont even want to go into the rest of the game, still to mad, but I had to get that off my chest.

You are not serious, right? The one kick that was not a "sky kick" was a line drive that hit one the receivers in the leg, bounced around and gave us an opportunity to get down the field and hold them to a paltry return. I certainly do not advocate that type of kick off.

The reason for our demise were the moving before the ball was snapped penalties. Think back about these penalties. Once it took us out of the possibility of completing a drive for a TD. Instead we settle for a field goal.

No, Tuffy it wasn't the sky kicks that did us in. Mental lapses, not picking up blitzes, and allowing third down catches for first downs, allowing Ohio to continue driving, are the leading factors for our loss.

I think it was both the issues you mentioned and the lack of a high, deep kick. We need someone who can punch a kick with a little hang time and get it over the 20 yard line. Otherwise, line one toward the corner and risk the penalty for out of bounds.

I have seen one of two things... either a line drive to the 5 to 10 that cannot be covered, or a sky kick to the 25 that almost guarantees a start at the 35 or better. The sky kick didn't do us in, but we need a kicker that can whollip the ball.

Actually, there is no way to retool the minds of the "please me instantly" people. We are simply going to have to hold those together who always hold things together, back this team to and thru the success. The fan that only shows up (as if its some standard they maintain - that always cracks me up) when its time to celebrate cannot be forced to do otherwise. It's been happening since the caveman. You know, the ones that love to beat their chests once the mammoth has been slain... but were never seen in the photos when the mammoth was taking his share of the fight.

Some build the party... others just arrive once its made. We will see the bigger mass of "fans" once we deliver a product that they hold as their "personal standard" for attending. It is just the way it is. Forgive them, and high five them at the finish line.

Give it your best shot. What exactly happened with S.AL, Minnesota, and Clemson?

Were the cheerleaders busses pelted with beer bottles? LOL!! This particular incident taking place when your poor, poor university was supposedly in a state of Katrina depression!
Was the GM of Lamar signs threatened with having his house burnt to the ground if a certain bill board was pt up on campus?
Did our AD have to put an open letter in the paper to all its fans begging them to behave?

Go peddle your foolishness somewheres else.
