No Head Coach chooses to play such poor football. He's playing all of the young guys because he has no choice. It's an act of desperation.

You are right in that it is a gamble. He might get lucky and be successful. But, I'm here to tell you that if the situation doesn't improve DRASTICALLY, soon, he will never see the last year of his contract.

Roberts is from Little Rock, played college ball at Ouachita Baptist, became head coach at Southern Arkansas and took over a team that had lost 30+ games in a row and became the first Division II team from Arkansas to make the playoffs. Did a two year stint at NW State before coming to ASU.

This is the first year since Roberts has arrived that the staff has felt confident passing quite a bit. We've been run first for years and now mix in quite a bit of spread.

If you recall, last year when the game was still close ASU's tight end dropped a pass that could have given ASU a lead. That same tight end caught two touchdown passes yesterday.

Remember this team should have beaten Texas, and is responsible for 2 of the Sun Belts few nonconference victories...

We aint Top 10 or anything, but we are listed up with Troy and FAU as the favorites to win the Belt this year

I'd say yall are a solid #3 behind Troy and FAU, Yall still should have good enough of a team to have a winning record and possibly a bowl game. Still with how good you are, yall havent exactly been an offensive juggernaut, and you just killed our defense last night. Its not every game you start talking about school records, and thats how poorly the cajun defense played against yall.

Most of the young guys are playing on defense so what happens when they are ready to be impact players...I'll tell you our offense will be young because by the time they are truly ready Fenroy, Desmo, Smith, and Chery will all be gone. Nows the time to bring in a new face to lead the program to the next level. The excuses are really old

Its hard to be a cajun fan. Will we ever go to a bowl game? It looks like we are on the decline again. I thought after the last two seasons we were going up hill. This is not good. It is like we are stuck in a toilet bowl that is about to be flushed completely. We will be lucky to win another one this year.

Take heart. We have been in the toilet for so long there is no place to go but up. We just need to stop waiting six years for someone to do something.

Conque has done a bang-up job at UCA.

He didn't inherit nearly the mess there that Roberts picked up at SAU or ASU. UCA had been .500 or better 5 of the 6 seasons before Mike Isom resigned and was the easiest Division II school to recruit to in Arkansas because it had the largest enrollment and a great location about 30 minutes from Little Rock.

Conque does a good job with the media.

Conque has a contract through 2011 for $114,000 a year.

I don't know if the story is true or not but I was told his wife owns a business in the Conway area (antique store maybe) and makes more money than he does. If true he would be very hard for anyone to hire away because that's safe money that isn't impacted by the oddities of recruiting or a star player getting the flu before a key game.

The fans were in year 7 of 9 straight losing seasons. At the time UL was 1-6 and this is what the stands looked like.

Now it wasn't homecoming but I think the attendance Saturday will show if the program has come anywhere since 2002 when the record was the same.
