Deserving something and earning it are two different things. By all reports, our guys are doing enough during the week to deserve being rewarded but they are not earning it on Saturday. Earning it on Saturday means being emotional enough to play hard while being disciplined enough to avoid mistakes. We have not done that yet and won't win until we do. At this point, it's not a physical thing which practice improves, but a mental thing which can't be overcome easily.

EMOTIONAL and DISCIPLINED should be the two words they should focus on for the rest of the season.

I know we're not even quite halfway through the season yet and yes miracles do happen, but I can honestly see us going 0-12 this season.
You apparently haven't paid much attention to UNT this season. They are doing WORSE than us! Yes, I know it's hard to believe, but ... However, that doesn't mean it'll be an easy game. They'll likely view this as one of their few opportunities to pick up a win this year (as will we) and step it up a notch. I think if we can get off to a great start, a la Troy, we should be able to put this game in the win column.

I'm sure Troy is happy with the win over us even though their defense gave up a huge amount of yardage. _
Option offenses are notoriously bad at finishing off drives and coming from behind.

    Option offenses need STRONG defenses.

Hoss, everybody needs a strong defense but we don't have one. If we don't have an dominating offensive performance against Denton, we'll get killed like last year. It's that plain and simple - no mystery, no rocket science, no brain surgery.

However we will not have this opportunity for new blood in the administration again anytime soon. I would hope the new President comes in with a renewed vigor and a plan to attack the problem. Will he/she be successful? Time will tell but good Lord I don't want to hear "we cant do anything because of the big bad wolf"....

A once in a generation opportunity is upon us.......... _
The greatest hope for a better future is the new leadership. I share your opinion that we will not know what the true sentiment of the new president will be toward athletics (and football in particular) until he takes the helm. This is one of the most pivotal events in the history of the university. I truly hope that the next president isn't simply a "casual fan" but a business minded person who comprehends that having a great football program contributes to the overall success, in every area, of a university. It has been proven over and over.

As for the immediate, none of us accept mediocrity. We just differ on when to pull the plug and start over. I also hold the opinion that having a blow out on here is fine. But, continuous slamming of the current situation on here is not the trigger to make change. If your mission is to demand change, you must hire a female to streak during the upcoming football game with a banner trailing behind her, specifically spelling out your demands. It is the only way. Do not allow the banner to disrupt my view of the streaker. That will only bring on a chorus of boos. Have her tie off the light weight banner to her neck and waste, and allow at least 18 inches of space between her back and the start of the banner. Oh, and pick a nice one... you know what I mean. I do not accept mediocrity. Preciate it.
