8th Place: UL Ragin’ Cajuns – After starting the 2010 season 2-2, with those two wins coming against conference rivals Arkansas State and North Texas, the Ragin’ Cajuns lost their next seven games before finishing the season with a one-point victory at ULM.
First-year head coach Mark Hudspeth is well respected among his peers, but he has a mountain to climb in Lafayette.
The Ragin’ Cajuns were one of the worst defensive teams in the nation last season, ranking 112th nationally with 37.0 points allowed per game.
They weren’t much better offensively with their 22.3 points per game ranking 92nd in the country.
The running game is especially in poor shape.
UL finished with less than 100 rushing yards in eight of 12 games last year.
