The University of Louisiana women's tennis team was ranked No. 7 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) final 2011 Southern Region listings.
It's the second straight season the program was ranked in the Top 10 of the talent-laden Southern Region of Division I tennis.
The Ragin' Cajuns made tremendous strides under the guidance of first-year coach Greg Harkins during the 2011 season. The squad reached the championship match of the 2011 Sun Belt Tournament, marking the first time in 13 years the program advanced to the finals. The Cajuns final record was 11-9.
Individually, senior Julie Mazinova finished her collegiate career as the 19th-ranked player in the Southern Region's singles listings. She was regionally ranked for the second straight season.
Mazinova was ranked amongst some of the top collegiate players hailing from schools such as Ole Miss, Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Tulane and Mississippi State.
She posted a 21-9 record this past season in singles play, marking a second straight season of 20-plus victories. She was impressive from the no. 2 singles spot, going 7-1 in dual matches.
She concluded her career at UL with a 70-41 singles record and 59-42 career record in doubles play.
