Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun baseball team enters the second half of Sun Belt Conference play tonight, and the schedule would indicate that the Cajuns have a definite advantage in the final four league weekends.
UL hosts Arkansas-Little Rock (18-25, 5-9 Sun Belt) in the opener of a three-game series at 6:30 p.m., part of a group of remaining Cajun opponents who have a combined 20-29 league record entering this weekend.
But Cajun head coach Tony Robichaux isn't looking at records, and really isn't looking at his opponents.
"From here on in, we're playing against ourselves," Robichaux said Thursday. "When you get off to the start we have, it's easy to focus on where we are instead of keeping focused on our goals. And we haven't reached any of our goals yet."
The Cajuns (36-8) are ranked anywhere from 13th to 21st in the four major college baseball polls this week and are tied for the nation's most wins. But they're only a half-game ahead of the pack in the Sun Belt with 12 games - six home, six away - remaining.
