The 62nd National Athletic Trainers' Association annual meeting kicked off with a host of sessions at the Ernest J. Morial Convention Center on Monday morning including a look at how new helmets can reduce the risk of concussions in football among other helmeted sports.

Experts at an athletic trainers convention in New Orleans said the best to prevent concussions in football is to not lead with your head.
Though significant advances have been made in cushioning the brain from injuries like concussions, experts say the best way to prevent concussions is technique - not leading with your head when making a tackle.
